The Sultanate of Brunei, or Brunei for short, one of the oil-rich countries, is located on the island of Borneo in Southeast Asia. Apart from the South China Sea coast, it borders only Malaysia.
Brunei is one of the members of the Association of Southeast Asian Nations (ASEAN). According to the Sultan's decree, there are no taxes to pay in the state and the inhabitants have free health and education.
It is one of the richest and smallest countries in the world, home to the famous Kampong Ayer water houses or Temburong National Park, where you can visit a tropical rainforest.
Brunei is an ideal place to stop for 2-3 days during your travels in Borneo or when connecting at Brunei BWN International Airport.
