Zurich Airport in a nutshell
Switzerland’s largest airport is home to Swiss, one of Europe’s leading airlines.
Thanks to its extensive network of routes across Europe, to North and South America, Asia and Africa, Zurich Airport is a major European hub. The airport buildings are not as sprawling as those at Frankfurt or Paris CDG, for example, which is why Zurich Airport is very popular amongst travellers.
The terminals are situated in the town of Kloten, roughly 11 km north of Zurich city centre.
Relatively few low-cost carriers fly to Zurich, so you’ll usually find cheaper flights to northern Switzerland via Basel Airport ( BSL), 95 km away.

The search engine throws me 50 minutes for the transfer "Hong Kong - Zurich - Prague" to connect in Zurich. Do you think this is a realistic transfer time? And if I don't make it, how accommodating are the Swiss about rebooking for the next available flight? The transfer would be guaranteed.
Nothing to worry about. Zurich is fast.
I've personally flown it and it's cool. It's a 15-minute run. If anything, they'll rebook it for the next flight.
Hey. Hey. I originally had a flight with a change of 1hr.15min. in Zurich on 24.12. (Prague- Zurich- Hong Kong, Swiss+ Cathay). My first flight was delayed by 30min. , so now I have 45min. I got it on one ticket, unchecked (bought directly from Lufthansa). I'm a bit nervous that the flight altually with this transfer is not even on offer anymore (probably outside the transfer guarantee). Question is, what can I do to make it ?:D Does anyone have any experience that they could change it for free and I would fly to Zurich the day before ? The change was made in the app without offering the change. I don't want to risk the option that if I can't make it, they will give me a hotel and a flight the next day (I have quite a varied schedule in Hong Kong).
Yes, I have experience... it won't change it for free, the change is so small that the airline doesn't even offer another option for a replacement flight. Even 30 minutes to Zurich is enough. All you have to do is pray it's on time.
Try asking if they can put you on the earlier morning flight (no need to be a day early). Worst case HKG flies then swiss in the evening.
And now I see that my flight to Zurich in December was also delayed by 30 minutes and I received an email from swiss offering me options: confirm the change, choose another flight, fly another time.
Hey. Hey. Thanks, I tried. I was told I could make it, that the minimum is 30 minutes. I'll throw my seat on the flight from Prague somewhere up front and hope it doesn't defrost. I'd love to fly Cathay, if only for the noodles :D .The flight from Prague is mostly on time. if anyone wants to join me for the Hong Kong and surrounding area holiday, sz.
So if you're on a light tariff, you're not getting anything with HON...
I'm not chasing HON. I bought my tickets with LH because I'm flying back in a340-600 via FRA (premium-eco). I have the Cathay one on the way there as it has one of the best eco and I want to try it too ;)
I meant the choice of seats... Although, then HON can check in for himself at checkin.
In this case, 355 CZK for buying a seat seems like a good investment.
Yeah, one of these days I'm going to roll down the window and put it in the aisle :D
If anyone is flying to Prague on Friday (LX1488), I can take them to the lounge. It's more or less a standing offer, with an exception here and there.
Today (and on a few other Fridays), this applies to flight LX1482.
