Luggage storage
At present, Tulum Airport does not offer a luggage storage service, nor are there any luggage lockers available there.
Shops and supermarket
In the public area of the airport, there is a small shop called GO Mart selling drinks and light refreshments, as well as a chemist’s.
There is also a souvenir shop in the public area, which is ideal for buying items such as alcohol so that you can pack them in your checked-in luggage.
After security, you’ll find the ‘duty free ’ shop, as well as several souvenir shops.
Dining options
After passing through security, you can choose from several restaurants and local fast-food outlets in the fairly large food court .
In the public area, there are smaller cafés and bistros, as well as larger chains such as Starbucks and Domino’s.
Cash machines and currency exchange bureaux
There is a currency exchange office in the arrivals hall offering a relatively favourable rate, particularly for the US dollar. It’s a good option for exchanging, say, your first 50 dollars, but currency exchange offices in the city usually offer slightly better rates.
Next to the currency exchange office are several ATMs from major banks, which generally offer better terms for cash withdrawals than currency exchange offices, particularly if you’re withdrawing larger amounts.
Mexican banks generally charge a flat fee of around 180 mxn for withdrawals made with a foreign card.
I was able to withdraw money from ATMs all over Mexico without any problems using my Revolut card – if you don’t have one yet, sign up for Revolut via our link to get a bonus.
