It takes about 2 minutes to walk across the terminal. Be prepared for queues of up to 20–30 minutes at security, particularly in the morning.

The departures terminal remains open throughout the night.

Connecting flights

Ciampino is dominated by low-cost airlines, so you won’t usually have a traditional connection on a single ticket.

However, thanks to the extensive network of routes, many travellers choose to book two separate tickets with a connection at Ciampino.

The arrivals and departures areas are not connected. You must therefore always leave the transit area, go outside and then pass through the departures hall and security check again.

The total transfer time, including any queues, is between30 and 40 minutes.

Overnight stay in the terminal – opening hours

Ciampino Airport terminal closes overnight andit is not possible to stay there overnight.

The airport opens approximately 2 hours before the first morning departure.
