Ciampino Airport uses one very small terminal, with a larger area (on the right) for departures and a smaller area (on the left) for arrivals.

The division of flights by Schengen and non-Schengen flights takes place after the security check.

The terminal can be crossed on foot in 2 minutes. Be prepared for queues of up to 20-30 minutes at the security checkpoint, especially in the morning.

Transfer between flights

Ciampino is dominated by low-cost airlines, so you won't usually be able to make a traditional one-way transfer.

However, thanks to the dense network of routes, many travellers put together two independent tickets with a connection at Ciampino.

The arrival and departure sections are not interconnected. So you always have to leave the transit area, walk out and go back through the departure hall and security.

The total transfer time, including any queues, is between 30 and 40 minutes.

Overnight in the terminal - opening hours

The Ciapino Airport terminal closes overnight and it is not possible to stay overnight.

The airport opens approximately 2 hours before the first morning departure.
