Shops and restaurants
Shopping options at the airport are limited to a small duty free shop after security check.
There are several eating establishments at the airport and they are mostly small cafes and bistros offering cold and simple hot meals.
Three cafes can be found in the public area and two in the transit area after passing through security. Expect prices to be significantly higher than elsewhere on the island.
ATMs and exchange offices
There is no currency exchange at the airport and ATMs are generally not recommended in Honduras due to frequent fraud.
In Honduras and on Roatán Island separately, however, you don't have to use the local currency (lempiras) at all. Virtually everywhere it is common to accept US dollars for payment, which you simply exchange in your home country.
