Transport from Pokhara Airport: My Tips
Pokhara doesn’t have a conventional public transport system – personally, if I were travelling with large suitcases or rucksacks, I wouldn’t consider anything other than a taxi.
The most common transport options are:
- Ride-sharing apps – mainly InDrive
- Hotel transfers – arranged in advance with your accommodation
- Traditional taxis
Hotel transfer
If you’re staying in a traditional hotel (rather than an Airbnb flat), it’s quite common for the hotel to offer transport from the airport via a contracted driver.
This is usually the most reliable option if you want to have your transport arranged in advance.
Prices are usually similar to those of taxis, though sometimes a little higher.
Expect the journey to the city centre to cost around 2 500 npr.

The InDrive app
This is usually the cheapest and most reliable option if you haven’t arranged a transfer from your hotel.
The InDrive mobile app generally works well in Nepal, and cars should normally be available to pick you up at the airport too.
Fares to the city centre are around 1 500 npr and you can usually only pay in cash.
You’ll need mobile data to use the InDrive app. Personally, we sort this out by buying an eSIM from Airalo.

Taxis
The final option is traditional taxis, of which there are always plenty waiting outside the airport terminal.
The biggest drawback is that you have to agree on the price in advance, so it will usually be somewhere between1 500 npr and 2 000 npr.
