Shops and supermarkets

Newark Airport is well stocked with shops, especially after security, and only in certain areas.

Terminal B is the least well-equipped, with only 1 to 3 shops after security. On the other hand, the best equipped is the state-of-the-art Terminal A, where there is a really large number of shops selling fashion, cosmetics, electronics or sports equipment.

The popular Hudson News or WHSmith mini-markets for drinks, snacks and basic groceries are scattered throughout the airport, including the public areas of the terminals.

Expect duty free shops, fashion, accessories, electronics and travel gear stores in the transit areas of all terminals.

A list of all shops is available on the airport website: newarkairport.com/shops.

Dining options

Dining options are plentiful in all terminals, where you'll find many bistros, fast-food joints and full-service restaurants.

Generally speaking, there is always more choice after security, but even in the public areas there is always a café or fast-food outlet.

A list of all restaurants is available on the airport website: newarkairport.com/restaurants.

Although Newark is a huge airport with all-night operations, there are very few branches open 24 hours a day.

  • Dunkin' Donuts - Terminal C, public area, 24/7
  • Dunkin' Donuts - Terminal A, public area, 24/7
  • Garden State Market - Terminal A, after security check, 24/7

Vending machines

All terminals are filled with vending machines selling a variety of merchandise.

There are vending machines with drinks, sweets, as well as drugstores and pharmacies.

We would recommend the excellent Farmers Fridge vending machines with healthy foods, which are always located after security check.

ATMs and money changers

Only SDI, CXI, ICE and Travelex operate currency exchange and ATMs at the airport, with high fees and unfavorable exchange rates. There are no ATMs operated by regular banks.

We recommend that you leave your withdrawals until you reach the city and pay for transport by card.

Drinking water

All terminals have free drinking water bottle filling areas after security check.
