How to get from the airport to Longyearbyen, 5 km away?

Public transport - bus

After the arrival of each flight, a Flybuss bus is waiting outside the terminal.

The bus departs from the airport to the city centre approximately 30 minutes after arrival when the baggage belt is empty.

From the city centre to the airport, the bus runs approximately 2 hours before departure (journey time is about 15 minutes). A detailed timetable is available on the svalbardbuss.no/flybuss website.

The price of a one-way ticket is 110 nok.

Students get a discount and pay 75 nok.

Taxi

The taxi rank is right outside the terminal, but taxis are not always waiting here. The price to the centre is around 200 nok.

Mobile apps such as Uber or Bolt do not operate in Svalbard.

On foot

The journey can be made on foot, but be aware that polar bears will rarely visit the town, so you risk collisions with them.
