Getting from Kulusuk Airport

Kulusuk

Kulusuk does not have any form of public transport and no taxis operate here.

How to get to the village centre or the tourist town of Tasiilaq?

Transportation to Tasiilaq

Since Kulusuk is a very small village with no attractions, most tourists head straight to the popular town of Tasiilaq.

Helicopter

The easiest option is to buy a flight ticket from Nuuk to Tasiilaq with a change in Kulusuk, with the Kulusuk - Tasiilaq segment being operated by helicopter.

However, if you are flying into Kulusuk from Iceland, you can buy a separate helicopter ticket to Tasiilaq via airgreenland.com, which costs 1 100 dkk one way.

Helicopters fly between Kulusuk Airport and Tasiilaq several times a day.

The flight takes 10 minutes.

Ferry

Another option, but one that is equally expensive, is the boat service.

This is operated by Tasiilaq Tours during the summer months (June to mid-September) at a cost of 1 000 dkk. The boat schedule follows the regular departures and arrivals.

Year-round boat transport is also provided once a day by Freja Arctic at a price of 915 dkk. This cruise can be booked through airgreenland.com.

Transportation to the port is provided by minivans by both companies at the price of the ticket.

Transport to Kulusuk village

If you wish to visit the village of Kulusuk between arriving in Kulusuk and continuing on to Tasiilaq, walking is the only form of transport to the centre, 4km away.

However, if you are staying at the nearby Kulusuk Hotel *** (about 300 metres from the airport), the hotel provides a free shuttle service for guests between the airport, the centre and the harbour.
