Getting from Kona Airport

There is a local Hele-on bus stop right outside the terminal, however, the vast majority of passengers use car rental companies to get around the Big Island.
Car rental
By far the best way to get around the Big Island is by renting a car. The only option, to be precise, because you can't get to the vast majority of the natural attractions without a car.
All the car rental companies are located in the arrivals hall of the airport, and it is very easy to get around the island from the airport. The terminal is just under 500 metres from the main road 19, which circles the Big Island.
Car rental prices at Kona Airport normally range between 130 usd and 300 usd per week, depending on the type of car.
