Kobe Airport in a nutshell
The smallest of the Kansai region's airports is located on an artificial island about 7 km from the centre of Kobe, Japan, and 40 km from the centre of Osaka.
The largest share of flights to Kobe are operated by Skymark Airlines, with Sapporo, Okinawa and Tokyo Haneda airports having the most flights.
Kobe serves as an alternative airport for the entire region. You can also use the following airports:
- Osaka-Kansai KIX - Most international and all long-haul routes
- Osaka-Itami ITM - very heavy domestic traffic
From my personal point of view, Kobe is the most pleasant and uncluttered of all the airports in the region for travellers. It's very small, orientation is easy and you just need to be there 60-75 minutes before your flight.
