Queues for immigration control upon arrival usually reach 30-45 minutes.

After the security check, we recommend using the 1st floor waiting area (accessible only by stairs) where there are always plenty of seats available.

Transfer between flights

Connections between two international flights are extremely rare at this airport and therefore the terminal does not have a direct transfer option without entering Tanzania.

However, airlines often offer transfers from international to domestic flights here, particularly to Mwanza, Dar es Salaam and Zanzibar.

Even if you connect on one ticket, you must go through immigration, collect your luggage, walk about 70 metres next door to the domestic section and check in again.

In total, this procedure usually takes 45-70 minutes.

Overnight at the airport - opening hours

The terminal remains open 24/7, but overnight stays at the airport itself are very inconvenient due to the lack of seating and space.

In addition, security can check your ticket for the next day several times a night.

Hotels near the airport

You can also walk to the hotel from the terminal on a tarmac road (approx. 1 800 metres), the road is safe even at night.

The cheaper accommodation will offer Panone Hotels - King'ori Kilimanjaro Airport **** on the main road connecting the towns of Arusha and Moshi about 10 km from the airport. The hotel offers its own transfer service, but at a price 50 usd.

Therefore, use this hotel ideally if you will have a rental car.
