On-arrival visas
In the arrivals hall, you will find counters where you can purchase a Tanzanian visa on arrival.
The price is 50 usd ; you can also pay in euros (the amount is the same, i.e. 50 eur ) or in Tanzanian shillings (approx. 125 000 tzs ).
If you plan to pay for your visa on arrival, please ensure you have cash in US dollars ready before you leave home. There are no cash machines or bureaux de change before you go through immigration! Although you can officially pay by card, this option is often unavailable.
Visas for Tanzania can also be arrangedonline. In this case, upon arrival, join the shorter queue marked ‘Have Visa’.
Internet and Wi-Fi
You can connect to the internet via a free Wi-Fi network. No registration is required. The internet connection is valid for 3 hours, but you can reconnect once this time has elapsed.
Free Wi-Fi is available at all three terminals.

ATMs and currency exchange bureaux
In the arrivals hall, you’ll find several currency exchange bureaux and bank branches offering relatively good exchange rates.
It is also easy to withdraw cash from ATMs operated by Tanzanian banks, of which there are plenty throughout the airport in all terminals.
The ATM withdrawal fee for foreign cards is around 15 000 tzs.
Shops and supermarkets
In Terminal 3, you’ll find one duty free shop, as well as shops selling jewellery, toys and souvenirs. Most shops are located beyond the security checkpoint and many of them are open 24/7.
In the public area, there is just one small souvenir stall and a mini-market selling mainly sweets and drinks.
Terminal 2 has shops selling SIM cards and a small convenience shop in the public area.
After the security check, there is another mini-market selling sweets and drinks, but there are no other shops there.
There is no chemist’s available at the airport in either terminal.
Dining options
Terminals 2 and 3 have a BAO café in the public area, where you can also buy hot meals. Prices for a large meal, including a drink, are around 20 000 tzs.
After passing through security in Terminal 3, you will find KFC and Pizza Hut fast-food outlets (open 24/7) and three local restaurants.
In Terminal 2, past the security checkpoint, there is one restaurant and one small snack bar.
Terminal 1 has only a small bistro beyond the security checkpoint.
You’ll find a pleasant bistro with outdoor seating and a partial view of the apron on the walkway between Terminals 2 and 3.
Luggage storage
There is no luggage storage facility in either terminal. There are no lockers available either.
Luggage wrapping
A service to wrap luggage in protective film is available in the departure hall at the check-in counters in Terminals 2 and 3.
The price per piece of luggage is around 10 usd.
Smoking areas
In both Terminal 3s, a smoking room is available beyond the security checkpoint.
