Transport from Burgas Airport: My Tips

Burgas

From Burgas Airport you can take a bus to Burgas, but also to Sunny Beach or to the resorts of Ravda, Pomorie or Nessebar.

Car rental and taxi ranks are also available in the terminal.

Transportation with travel agencies

If you have bought a tour to Bulgaria with a travel agency (flight + accommodation + airport transfer), you will pick up your luggage and walk out of the transit zone.

On the right hand side you will find the stands of each travel agency where your delegates are waiting.

They will direct you to a bus that will take you directly to your hotel at no extra charge. The tourist bus stop is approximately 50 metres in front of the terminal.

City bus to Burgas

To get to the airport, take bus number 15 or 15A, which runs every half an hour to Burgas South Bus Station. The journey takes approximately 25-30 minutes.

Buses at the south bus station stop at bay number 1 in the intercity terminal.

Where are the stops at the airport?

There are two stops for the 15/15A lines within the airport area.

  • Directly at the terminal (left of the exit)
    • Line 15 stops here on its way out of the centre and continues on to Sarafovo
    • Line 15A stops here on its way to the centre (replaces line 15 between approx. 17:40 and 19:40)
  • At the roundabout (approx. 250 metres from the terminal, see map)
    • Line 15 stops here in the direction of the centre of Burgas
    • Line 15A stops here on its way out of the centre and continues on to Sarafovo (replaces line 15 between approx. 17:00 and 19:00)

So, if you are heading from the airport to the centre of Burgas between 17:40 and 19:40, the stop towards the centre is just outside the terminal. At other times of the day, the stop towards the centre is at the roundabout.

Ticket price

The ticket costs 0,80 eur and is paid with your own bank card - the validator is always located at the 2nd door of the bus.

You can still pay the fare in cash at the driver's desk.

Alternatively, you can buy a cheaper fare for 0,60 eur on the Transport Burgas mobile app, where you need to charge your e-wallet (normally online with a card). When you enter the bus, just scan the QR code at the validator and the fare will be deducted.

You can also pay the fare for 0,60 eur with a transport card, but you can't buy one at the airport, see the information in our guide to Burgas.

Buses direction Pomorie, Sunny Beach, Nessebar, Ravda

On the far side of the roundabout there is a stop (see map) for regional buses going from the centre of Burgas to the resorts.

There are several bus carriers on the route (for example M-Bus, Di Es Bus or Concord-7). All the companies are listed in their timetables on the website burgabus.info, however, departure times are only given from the final stops, which in this case is the bus station in Burgas, about 20-30 minutes drive from the airport).

All services of the lines in question stop in both directions at the roundabout by the airport.

  • Pomorie - once every 30 minutes, the journey takes about 15 minutes and costs 1 eur
  • Ravda - 1x every 20 minutes, the journey takes approx. 35 minutes and costs 2,50 eur
  • Nesebar - 1x every 20 minutes, the journey takes about 35 minutes and is standing 3 eur
  • Sunny Beach - 1x every 40 minutes, the journey takes approx. 45 minutes and stands 4 eur

Tickets can be purchased from the driver or conductor inside the bus and can only be paid in cash.

On the route Burgas - Nessebar - Sunny Beach runs lines 10 and 22. Only line 10 goes around the airport, while line 22 goes inland through the village of Kableshkovo and does not stop at the airport.
