China’s largest airport is also one of the busiest in the world. Beijing Capital Airport is situated approximately 30 km north-east of the city centre.

Due to the rapid development of civil aviation in China, a new airport, Beijing-Daxing (PKX), was built to the south of the city, to which some flights have been transferred.

However, Beijing Capital Airport remains the main international hub, from which a huge number of domestic flights also operate.
