Icelandair in a nutshell

Icelandair

Iceland's largest airline has largely based its business plan on an alternative route from Europe to North America with a stopover in Iceland.

It usually offers both the possibility of stopovers of up to several days and very quick connections at the friendly and small Keflavik airport, which serves as the main base.

Icelandair's fleet consists of modern Boeing 737 MAX and Airbus A321 aircraft, as well as smaller De Havilland Dash 8 turboprops, which are used for domestic flights within Iceland or to Greenland and the Faroe Islands.

There is also a low-cost airline , PLAY, operating in Iceland with a very similar business model to Icelandair and often with lower fares, but fewer destinations and fewer services on board.
