Canadian North, formerly First Air, is wholly owned by the Inuit community and is a vital link between the small towns of the Northwest Territories, Nunavut and the Nunavik region of Quebec and the major cities of southern Canada.

The airline has its largest bases at Yellowknife and Iqaluit airports.

The fleet includes several ATR-42 turboprops, 9 modern Boeing 737-700s and 9 Boeing 737-300s, with half the cabin dedicated to passengers and half the cabin dedicated to cargo.
