Palau de la Música Catalana

Palau de la Música Catalana, interior

The Palau de la Música Catalana is a globally unique monument in the magnificently ornate style of Catalan Modernism, which, together with the Sant Pau Hospital complex, is listed as a UNESCO World Heritage Site.

This leading concert hall in Barcelona will captivate you not only with its exterior but, above all, with its breathtaking interior.

The concert hall building is regarded as the magnum opus of architect Lluís Domènech i Montaner and combines the colourful, at times even kitschy elements typical of Catalan Modernism with graceful, curved lines.

The concert hall was opened in 1908 after just three years of construction and has been dedicated to music ever since.

A tour of the concert hall

If you do not wish to attend a performance, you can pay just for entry to the interior, which we highly recommend if you have even a passing interest in architecture.

Tours are available daily from 9.00 am to 3.30 pm.

You can buy tickets from the ticket machine in the entrance lobby of the historic building (on Carrer de Sant Pere Més Alt) or online for a specific time slot. The price is the same whether you buy online or on site; payment is by card only.

There are 3 types of ticket available:

  • 18 eur – admission without a guide
  • 22 eur – admission with an audio guide
  • 22 eur – guided tour

Of course, you can also pop into the concert hall to see a real concert. It’s best to buy tickets online; they’re usually available about three weeks before the specific performance.
