Legoland

Legoland Billund

The main attraction in Billund, Denmark, is Legoland. The gates of this amusement park began to bring joy to children and adults as early as 7 June 1968. Today, 2 million guests visit the park every year. It is the oldest and first Legoland in the world.

It is a short walk or an even quicker bus ride from Billund BLL Airport.

What attractions can you find here?

If you've never been to a Legoland before, you may be confused about what a theme park like this actually contains.

Find cheap hotels in Billund

This is a typical classic theme park full of roller coasters for both kids. and older ones and all sorts of attractions. Legoland is typical in that you will find lots of characters and machines built out of Legos and the whole park is themed around colourful blocks.

The whole area is divided into several sections:

  • Miniland - a large but miniature town boasts not only small houses along the canals, but also moving dummies in the form of planes at the airport, trains, boats or even a shuttle. Made of Lego, of course.
  • Duplo Land - for the little ones, there is a nice park full of slides, slides and replicas of a hospital, a police station or a farm with a tractor.
  • Legoredo Town - a typical western town is full of shops and cafes, cowboys and one of the fastest roller coasters, the Hawk. Pan for gold, take a kayak ride (ideally in warm weather) and don't get robbed by bandits.
  • Polar Land - warm clothing is not a requirement. You'll be plenty warm on one of Legoland's biggest roller coasters. Sit in front of the aquarium full of penguins and unpack your snacks before continuing on.

Many more attractions await you in the NinjaGo World, The Lego Movie World, Knight's Kingdom, Pitate Land and Adventure Land sections. The park also includes a space full of Nintendo video games or an underwater world with a 4D cinema and, of course, live underwater creatures.

Hotels in Legoland

When you combine the pleasant with the useful, you take the experience to a whole other level. Give your little ones a hotel experience too with authentic hotels. You can choose between rooms made of Legos or in the bowels of the castle:

How to save money when visiting Legoland?

On the website Legolandholidays.dk you can also buy packages including a hotel stay and a park ticket. Compared to previous years, this option is not so convenient and depending on your planning of your days in Billund, it can be paradoxically disadvantageous.

The package is worthwhile if you are only planning to spend one day at Legoland. In this case, you will save exactly 37 eur (regardless of the number of people and children) during your stay. However, if you want to take advantage of a two-day visit to the park, it is worth buying accommodation and tickets separately.
