About this deal

You can travel to Malta cheaply from Bucharest throughout the winter. Wizz Air is offering return flights from December through to March at prices around 250 ron278 ron, and you can choose from both week-long stays and short weekend breaks.

For example, the cheapest flights are available for the period 3–10 December for 250 ron. A number of other dates in January, February and March cost 278 ron.

If you don’t fancy planning a whole week, the weekends of 15–17 January or 29–31 January are an interesting option at 278 ron. What’s more, the flight times are ideal for a short break – you fly out of Bucharest as early as 6.05 am on Friday and return from Malta as late as 10.15 pm on Sunday. This gives you practically three full days on the island.

Before you travel

It’s fairly easy to explore Malta in just a few days. You can visit historic Valletta, Mdina, fishing villages or one of the coves along the coast.

If you’re staying for a week, you’ll also have plenty of time for a trip to the neighbouring island of Gozo, which you can reach by ferry.
