If you arrive in Zakynthos as part of a tour purchased through a travel agency, you will be met in the arrivals hall by a delegate and a free bus that will take you directly to your hotel.
But how to get from the airport on your own?
Rent a car
Since you can't get anywhere by bus except the cities and you'd be missing out on the best parts of the island, we definitely recommend renting a car for your entire stay.
There are many car rental companies operating in the terminal, including large international companies.
Prices for a week's rental in high season start at 330 eur. Due to the limited capacity of car rental companies, we recommend booking at least 2-3 months in advance.
KTEL buses
There is a regular bus service to the terminal from the bus station in Zakynthos town, from where other services take you to the larger villages.
The timetable doesn't correspond with flight times and buses only run 4 times a day in low season and 6-7 times a day during the summer.
On Sundays the buses do not run at all.

A ticket for 2,20 eur can be purchased in cash from the driver.
