Transport from Warsaw Airport: My Tips
The airport is connected to Warsaw by rail and bus services. Car hire is also available.
Once you have left the transit area, clear coloured markings on the floor will guide you to the various modes of transport. Please follow the colours below for each mode of transport:
- Yellow – taxi
- Black – Uber Airport
- Green – train
- Purple – city bus
Public transport tickets
Fares are the same for SKM trains (routes marked with the letter S) and buses, and can also be used on trams and the metro. Some tickets are also valid on trains marked RL.
You can buy tickets from ticket machines at stops, where you can pay by cash or card. Tickets are also available via several mobile apps; you can find a list of these on the transport company’s websiteat wtp.waw.pl/mobile-app.
All tickets are valid for transfers, and you can switch between any modes of transport in Warsaw as often as you like whilst the ticket is valid.
The airport is located in Zone 1.

Train
The S2, S3 and RL train lines are the fastest way to get to the city centre, but they are also the least frequent. The station is located directly beneath the terminal.
S2 route
The SKM2 train route (S2 for short) is operated by the Warsaw transport company ZTM, and therefore all the ZTM tickets listed above are valid on this route.
The S2 line runs directly to the city centre via all the main stations (Zachodnia, Środmieście and Wschodnia) and continues to the eastern outskirts of Warsaw.

The S3 line
The SKM3 line (S3 for short) is operated by Warsaw’s public transport authority, ZTM, and therefore all the ZTM tickets listed above are valid on this line.
The S3 line bypasses the city centre from the north and stops at stations such as Zachodnia, Mlynów (metro connection), Gdańska and ZOO. However, it does not serve the main station or the Centralna and Wschodnia stations.

Buses
The buses operated by the ZTM transport company run much more frequently, and all the tickets listed above are valid on them.

Night transport
A special night bus service, the N32, runs from Centralna station to the airport during the night.
It runs approximately from 23:25 to 3:45, every 30 minutes. You can find the exact timetable on the website:www.wtp.waw.pl.
Ticket prices are the same as for daytime services.
Taxi
Taxi fares are not fixed across the board and are calculated using the meter. A standard taxi from the airport to the Centralna station area will cost around 50 pln.
The popular Uber Airport app also offers similar prices and has a pick-up point near the official taxis, right by the exit from the arrivals hall.
Lower fares between 35 pln and 45 pln are offered by standard Uber cars or the Bolt app, which have a pick-up point only on the first floor in front of the departures hall.
Long-distance coaches
Flixbus long-distance coaches also stop directly at the airport, providing direct services to many Polish cities without the need to change buses.

There are dozens of car hire companies based at the airport; you can easily compare their prices and then book online, for example on the website booking.com.
Prices range from 70 eur to 144 eur per week, depending on the size of the car or the car hire company you choose.
To Modlin Airport
If you’re transferring to Warsaw’s smaller airport, bear in mind that it’s quitea long way away and you should allow at least3.5 hours between flights. A direct connection to the village of Modlin is provided by the RL train service, which runs once an hour.
From Modlin station, you can take the shuttle bus to the airport, which is included in the ticket price. The journey takes an hour and a half in total and costs 22,40 pln.

The "ticket machine" at the bus stop in front of WAW airport does not have a very friendly touch screen. Therefore, it is better to use the same machine directly in the terminal building with a promptly responsive display.
The Relay and 1 Minute shops did not sell tickets at the moment (November 2024).
I'm a little bit missing in the list of public transport tickets the weekend ticket for 24 PLN and especially the weekend group ticket for up to 5 people for 40 PLN, which is worth it for 2 passengers.
It still applies.
