Tampere

Tampere Airport is connected to the city centre by special bus line 103, and line 34 also serves the outskirts of the city.

The mobile apps Uber and Bolt are also available in Tampere.

Public transport - buses

Despite the very light flight traffic, there are two bus lines that run directly to the terminal throughout the day, with the same fares as all bus and tram lines in Tampere:

  • Line 103 - goes directly to the centre of Tampere and connects to all scheduled flights including the night arrival or early morning departure of airBaltic to/from Riga.
  • Line 34 - runs every 30 minutes throughout the day (but only on weekdays) to the western edge of the city (Lielahti)

The journey to the city centre on line 103 takes 30 minutes.

Information about public transport in Tampere can be found on the nysse.fi website and a connection finder on the reittiopas.tampere.fi website.

Fares can be purchased with your own contactless card and are valid for 90 minutes. There are also 24-hour limits - no more money will ever be charged to your card in a given period.

You can also pay fares via the Nysse mobile app.

The airport is in Zone C and the city centre is in Zone A, so you'll need the most expensive 'ABC' fare to get around:

  • 4,70 eur - fare for 90 minutes
  • 10 eur - fare for 24 hours

Taxi / Uber / Bolt

Taxis are often waiting at scheduled arrivals, but they can be scarce. Fortunately, both Uber and Bolt apps work well in Tampere.

Prices are similar for all modes of transport, and to the centre range between 32 eur and 37 eur depending on current traffic.

Car rental

There are several car rental companies operating in the terminal (e.g. Avis, Budget, Europcar, Keddy and others), making it an ideal mode of transport for exploring the Finnish countryside.

Prices for a 3-day rental start at 120 eur.
