Sydney Kingsford Smith Airport is a major hub with all-night traffic and night connections between flights from Asia, Europe and the USA to Australia, Oceania and New Zealand.
Airport overnight stays - opening hours
The public areas of all terminals are open 24/7, as is the transit area. However, some security checkpoints are closed overnight, so you can only use the transit area overnight if you are only connecting in Sydney.
There are plenty of seats in both the public and transit areas, but virtually all of them have armrests between them and therefore it is not possible to lie down on them.
There are no quiet zones with more comfortable seats at Sydney Airport.
Hotels near the terminals
For a comfortable overnight stay, use one of the many hotels in close proximity to all terminals.
There is no hotel in the transit zone, so even during the transfer you must enter Australia and leave the airport building to stay overnight in a hotel.
