The airport is spacious but easy to navigate, modern and very convenient for passengers. Officially, Arlanda Airport has four terminals and one central area, SkyCity. In reality, however, check-in desks are only available at three of the terminals.

Terminals 4, 5 and SkyCity form a single building and are connected via both the public and transit areas. All four security checkpoints at these terminals lead to a single shared transit area. It takes about 15 minutes to walk from one end of Terminal 4 to the other end of Terminal 5.

Terminal 2 is a separate building, approximately 200 metres from Terminal 4 and around 500 metres from Terminal 5. It is connected to the other terminals by a walkway through the railway station (via the public area only).

You can use the Arlanda Express train free of charge between Terminals 2/3 and 5. The section where you do not have to pay for travel is strictly between Arlanda Norra and Arlanda Södra stations.

Connecting between flights

The transfer process at Arlanda Airport is hassle-free and very straightforward. In most cases, you’ll need to transfer within Terminal 5 or, alternatively, Terminal 2.

You do not need to leave the transit area, and if you are transferring between flights within the Schengen Area, you will not need to go through security or passport control.

If you are flying from a country outside the Schengen Area, you will need to go through both passport control and security checks.

The official minimum connection time at Arlanda Airport is 30 minutes, or 40 minutes for flights from countries outside the Schengen Area.

Transferring between terminals

Although transferring between Terminals 2 and 4/5 on a single ticket is not common, a free shuttle bus runs across the airport between 06:00 and 22:00. Follow the signs marked ‘Connection to Terminal...’
