Jean Lesage Airport has a very clear and nice terminal, which you can find your way around immediately.

The check-in counters are in the central part of the concourse on the ground floor, with escalators leading from there to the security checkpoint to the departure gates.

The single terminal is used by all airlines for domestic and international flights, and although it's quite spacious, it takes about 5 minutes to walk through the whole thing.

The exception is Air Liaison, a small regional airline, which uses a separate building about 350 metres from the main terminal for check-in (passage through the ground floor garage) - see exact location on the map.

Transfer between flights

Although Quebec City is not as significant a transfer point as Toronto YYZ or Montreal YUL, it serves as a fairly important hub, especially for travel to small regional airports in the province of Quebec.

Connections here are very straightforward and hassle-free.

Domestic <-> Domestic

Upon exiting the aircraft, you will find yourself directly in the departure gate area. Just find the gate on the board and move to it without any checks.

This type of transfer is common when travelling from Paris or the Caribbean to small towns in the province of Quebec.

You get off the plane at the immigration control counters, where queues usually form for a maximum of 20 minutes. The check is largely automated and is done through kiosks.

After that, you collect your luggage, walk out to the public area, check it in again at the check-in counter (about a 1-minute walk) and move through security to the departure gate.

Domestic -> International

In this case the transfer is easier than the other way around. This is because there is no immigration check on departure from Canada, so you get off the plane straight into the departure gate area where you find your gate without any checking.

Transfer at the airport - opening hours

The airport terminal is open 24/7 and overnight stays inside the concourse are possible.

However, there are only hard seats with tables on the first floor in the public area and a comfortable overnight stay in the transit area is not possible as security does not open until approximately 2.5 hours before the first morning departure.

There are no hotels within walking distance of the terminal.

However, none of the hotels offer their own airport shuttle service, so you can only use taxis (19,20 cad) or Uber (from 15 cad).
