There are several major international car hire companies operating in the arrivals hall. Weekly hire rates during the summer season start from 230 eur.

Taxis

The Uber, Lyft and Bolt apps aren’t available in Podgorica, but you can use a similar app called Teslagoapp (Google Play / App Store.

There are also always plenty of traditional taxis waiting outside the terminal.

Payment is always in cash and taximeters are not usually used. Fares to the main destinations in Montenegro are fixed.

Regular city buses only run along the M2 main road, and the nearest stop, ‘Cijevna’, is 2.5 km from the airport (route map:mapy.com).

You can 1 eur can be purchased in cash from the driver.

Bus routes 22, 23, 24, 27 and 28 run to the main bus station “Trg Golootočkih žrtava” on average once every 10–15 minutes. You can view route maps on the website:klikbus.me.

Detailed timetables are not available on any website or at bus stops. The first buses from Podgorica run at around 4.50 am. The last services from the ‘Cijevna’ stop to the city centre run at around 10.45 pm.

Train

The “Aerodrom” railway station is located approximately 1.2 km from the terminal, on the only access road to the airport. See the map of the walking route from the terminal to the station:mapy.com.

The station lies on the main Montenegrin line from the capital, Podgorica, to the port of Bar. All regional trains stop here.

Trains run about 10 times a day at irregular intervals of 70–180 minutes.
