Public Transportation

Directly connected to the departures hall by a short covered walkway is the O-Train stop, blue line 4.

From the arrivals hall, you must first take the elevator to the departures level and turn right about 100 metres to the ticket machines and platform.

  • Blue Line 4 goes to South Keys Station (7 minutes away)
  • Here you change to Green Line 2 and go to Bayview Station (21 minutes away)
  • Here you change to the red line 1 and the journey to Parliament Central Station near the famous Parliament Hill will take 7 minutes
  • Last train from the airport - 0:12
  • First train from Parliament station with connections to other lines to the airport - 5:02 (6:10 on Saturdays, not until 8:11 on Sundays)

The Red Line travels throughout downtown and can also be used for trips to the popular ByWard Market (Rideau Station) or to a rail or bus terminus (Tremblay)

Alternatively, you can take the Line 6 bus from South Keys Station directly to downtown (Downtown area, Parliament and ByWard Market), but the trip is about 5 minutes longer than the train.

Ticket prices and where to buy

Fares are always valid for all "O-Train" urban rail lines, all OC Transpo buses and STO buses running to the neighbouring city of Gatineau.

  • 4 cad - One ride (valid for 90 minutes and you can transfer between lines)
    • if you pay cash, you pay 4,05 cad
  • 12 cad - day pass (valid for 1 calendar day, not 24 hours)
  • 30 cad - 3-day ticket (valid for 3 calendar days and not 72 hours)
  • Current prices on the official website: octranspo.com/fares

To pay your fare, simply swipe your own contactless card at the green reader at the turnstile when you enter the platform (or at the bus door).

Contactless card payments are subject to daily limits, so you won't charge more than 12 cad per day.

You can also still buy a traditional paper ticket at the machine with a QR code that you scan at the turnstile.

Night transport

When the train is not running, you can use the 98 bus line throughout the night with the same fares as the daytime service.

The stop is located on the departure level about 20 metres to the left of the exit near the railway station.

Line 98 runs non-stop to the city centre (Rideau station) with a frequency of 35-50 minutes.

Taxi / Uber

Ottawa doesn't suffer from traffic jams very often, so taking a taxi or car via the Uber mobile app is reliable.

Taxis run by meter and payment can always be made with cash or credit card. The taxi stand is located in front of the arrivals hall right next to the international section and about 80 meters from the domestic section.

The average price of a taxi to the centre is around 35 cad to 40 cad.

Slightly lower prices from 29 cad are offered by the UBER mobile app, which, on the other hand, has a stand in front of the domestic section.

Car rental

Rent a car especially if you want to explore the countryside and natural beauty around Ottawa.

Average car rental prices for 4 days are around 275 cad
