Transport from Mykonos Airport: My Tips

Mykonos

The airport is served by local buses and taxis, and there are also car hire companies operating in the terminal.

Car hire

Mykonos is a small, very rugged island with plenty of coves and beaches that you simply cannot reach by bus.

If you want to explore Mykonos properly, make use of the services of one of the many international or local car hire companies right in the terminal. Weekly rates in peak season start at 255 eur.

KTEL buses

Right next to the airport terminal, you’ll find a bus stop for services that run only during the summer season(June–September).

You can take the bus to both the main Fabrika bus station near the centre of Mykonos town and the new harbour in the north of the town. You can find timetables for the routes at mykonosbus.comand buy a ticket from the driver for 2,50 eur.

The journey to the Fabrika station in the town centre takes around 10 minutes, and buses run on average once an hour during the summer.

Taxi

A taxi will take you to Mykonos town centre in 10 minutes and costs 25 eur per car.

There are always plenty of taxis waiting at the airport, even during the winter season when they’re waiting for flights arriving from Athens. Payment is by cash only, and mobile apps such as Uber or Bolt do not operate on the island of Mykonos.

Hotel transfer

The final and widely used option is a transfer from your accommodation. Many hotels on Mykonos offer free transport from the airport and to the port – check the availability of this service in advance and arrange your transfer.
