The airport has a single modern terminal divided into two sections - domestic and international.

The new terminal was opened in 2025 and fully replaced the old building, which was closed and had inadequate capacity.

Nearest hotels near Lima Airport

The distances to the departure gates are relatively short, but the queues for security checks and especially baggage check-in can be very long and it is advisable to arrive at the airport 3 hours before departure.

In contrast,immigration control on arrival tends to be relatively quick and even if there are several large planes meeting at the time, you will usually spend no more than 60 minutes in the queue.

Transfer between flights

If you're going to make a non-guaranteed connection in Lima (i.e. two different separately purchased tickets), you'd better allow a full day for the transfer. Domestic flights within Peru in particular are often significantly delayed or even cancelled.

Guaranteed transfers are straightforward due to the fact that there is only one terminal at the airport and the following rules apply.

International <-> International

When transferring between two international flights, follow the "International Connections" signage, which will take you through security screening for transiting passengers only, straight to the departure gate area.

There is no immigration check.

• Average transfer time - 20-30 minutes
• Baggage on transfer - will be transferred automatically

International -> Domestic

Upon exiting the aircraft, proceed to immigration control, collect your luggage and exit to the public area.

You will then walk approximately 100 metres to the domestic section of the terminal where you will check your baggage and go through security.

• Average transfer time - 60-80 minutes
• Baggage on transfer - you must collect and re-check in

Domestic -> International

When you get off the plane, you have to go outside to the public section, walk about 100 meters to the international section and go through security here.

• Average transfer time - 50-70 minutes
• Baggage on transfer - will be transferred automatically

Domestic <-> Domestic

Upon exiting the aircraft you will find yourself directly in the departure gate area.

There is no security check.

• Average transfer time - 5-15 minutes
• Baggage on transfer - will be transferred automatically

Overnight in the terminal - opening hours

The terminal is open 24/7, but there are no comfortable places to stay overnight.

Even during the night, the terminal can be very busy and all available seats, which are always with armrests only, tend to be fully occupied.

Hotels near the airport

In case of an early morning departure, we recommend staying overnight in a hotel near the airport.

• Costa del Sol Wyndham Lima Airport **** - Hotel directly opposite the terminal (1 minute walk)
• Holiday Inn - Lima Airport **** - hotel on the main road about 150 metres from the terminal. It offers its own shuttle service for a fee, but the hotel can be reached on foot in a maximum of 5 minutes
