The airport is situated on the northern coast of the island of Saaremaa and is easily accessible by public transport. You can get to the town of Kuressaare by bus for €2.

Public transport – buses

There is a bus stop in front of the terminal, with services connecting to all scheduled arrivals and departures.

Bus routes 12-3 and 2 stop at the terminal. Both routes run to the Roomassaare ferry terminal. Line 12-3 goes directly to the historic centre, whilst line 2 also goes to the main bus station. The journey time to the centre is approximately 10 minutes.

You can 2 eur can be purchased from the driver using a contactless card or cash.

With the Estonian Ühiskart travel card, which you can buy, for example, at Tallinn Airport or at the R-Kiosk in the centre of Kuressaare, the fare is 1,50 eur and the ticket is valid for 90 minutes (you can change between routes).

A 24-hour ticket is also available via the Ühiskart for 4,50 eur.

Taxis, Bolt

Taxis operate on the island of Saaremaa and are often waiting there for every scheduled arrival. If you do not see any taxis, you will find business cards with taxi telephone numbers inside the terminal.

The Bolt mobile app is available in Kuressaare, but there are few drivers and cars are often unavailable.

The fare for a taxi or Bolt from the airport to Kuressaare town centre is approximately 8 eur.

Car hire

Europcar and Keddy car hire companies operate in Kuressaare, with prices starting from 30 eur per day during the peak season.

If you wish to explore Estonia and the island of Saaremaa by car, another good option is to hire a car at Tallinn Airport and take the ferry between the mainland and Saaremaa.
