Transport from Kaunas Airport: My Tips
Kaunas Airport is connected by bus route 29, which runs to the city centre and the railway station. Ticket prices start from 0,70 eur when purchased via the mobile app; see details below.
For the first morning departures and the last evening arrivals, the airport can only be reached by taxi.
Buses
Both local and long-distance buses stop in front of the terminal.
City bus service to Kaunas
To the left of the terminal exit, you will find the bus stopfor route 29, which runs along the main street to the city centre and the railway station.
You can buy a ticket for € 1,50 eur s using your own contactless card at the validator by the driver or via 0,70 eur via the Žiogas mobile app (Google Play / App Store).
The fare is valid for a single journey; all-day tickets are not available in Kaunas.

Long-distance routes to Vilnius and KlaipÄ—da
From the airport, you can travel directly to Vilnius, the capital of Lithuania, or to the port city of KlaipÄ—da. Transport is provided by Ollex.

- Vilnius – 3 to 4 times a day, price 15 eur
- Klaipėda – 4 to 5 times a day, price 22 eur
If you want to save a little money, it’s worth taking city bus 29 to the centre of Kaunas and continuing from there to Vilnius by train, or to Klaipėda by Kautra bus.

Taxi / Bolt
There are always plenty of official taxis waiting at the airport with a fixed price to Kaunas city centre of 25 eur. There is a 10% surcharge for card payments.
The Bolt mobile app is also available in the city, offering similar prices during times of high demand (particularly early in the morning and late in the evening). During the day, the price via Bolt can be around 20 eur.
Car hire
Several major international car hire companies have branches in the terminal. A car is the best way to explore the Lithuanian countryside or travel to the coast.
Weekly hire rates range from 105 eur to 150 eur depending on the season.
