Sri Lanka's largest airport is located near the beach resort of Negombo in the Katunayake district about 35 kilometres north of Sri Lanka's largest city, Colombo.

SriLankan Airlines has its main base at the airport and around 30 other airlines fly here. Flights from Colombo are mainly to India, the Middle East, South East Asia and Europe.

Flights to Colombo can often be purchased, for example, at emirates.com, qatarairways.com or indigo.com.

The airport is named after former Sri Lankan Prime Minister S.W.R.D. Bandaranaike.
