You can reach Bratislava Airport by public transport bus, which runs to the city centre and the main railway station. You can also drive directly to the terminal.

Bus 61 to the city centre

You can get to the centre of Bratislava on a single bus route operated by Dopravní podnik Bratislava.

Tickets are the same for all bus, tram and trolleybus routes throughout the city. The airport is not located in any special fare zone.

You can buy paper tickets from a ticket machine inside the terminal (which also accepts cards) or at a bus stop (which only accepts coins).

A cheaper alternative is to buy tickets via the IDS BK mobile app (available on:Google Play / App Store) after registering, or directly using your own contactless card on board the bus.

The following bus routes run to the airport:

• Route 61 (timetable: imhd.sk/linka/61): runs via Trnavské Mýto to the main railway station, which it reaches in around 25 minutes. Buses depart every 7 to 20 minutes; the first service to the airport leaves at 4.45 am, and the last service from the airport leaves at 11.35 pm
• Night route N61(timetable: imhd.sk/linka/N61): runs to both the bus and train stations. It departs once an hour.

Connection to Nivy bus station

If you’re heading to the main coach station, use this connection:

Direct Slovak Lines bus

Slovak Lines operates direct services between the airport and Nivy station without the need to change buses.

• Operating hours – 6.30 am to 10.00 pm towards the airport, and 5.35 am to 8.25 pm from the airport

Cheapest option with a change

For a cheaper journey, where standard Bratislava public transport fares apply, take bus 61 to the ‘Bajkalská’ stop, where you’ll change to trolleybus 60 and travel to the ‘Autobusová stanica’ stop.

The journey takes about 40 minutes and costs 1 eur when paying by card on board the bus, or 1,30 eur for a paper ticket, or 1,18 eur via the mobile app.

Taxi / Bolt / Uber

The fare for standard taxis to the city centre ranges from 10 eur to 15 eur.

Alternative taxi services such as Bolt or Uber are almost always cheaper, costing around 7 eur for a journey to the main railway station.

Bus to Vienna

Thanks to its proximity to the Austrian capital, Bratislava Airport can also serve as an alternative for travelling to Vienna.

Buses run directly from the terminal to the centre of Vienna without the need to change buses.

Flixbus operates this service approximately once an hour. The journey to Vienna takes around 105 minutes and costs from 10 eur.
