Batumi Airport is relatively small, and all flights are handled by a single terminal.

It is very easy to find your way around, and it usually takes just a few minutes to walk from the terminal entrance to your gate.

How long before departure should you arrive at the airport?

Batumi is the smallest airport in Georgia in terms of terminal size. It is even smaller than Kutaisi Airport.

However, there can be quite long queues at security (up to 20 minutes).

I recommend arriving:

• 2 hours before an international flight,
• 75 minutes before a domestic flight to Tbilisi or Natakhtari

How long does it take to clear the airport after arrival?

Upon arrival on an international flight, you will go through:

If yours is the only flight arriving, you can expect to be outside the terminal within 15 to 20 minutes of landing. If several international flights are arriving at the same time, allow 30 to 45 minutes instead.

Connecting flights at Batumi Airport

Connections are not very common at Batumi Airport, as most passengers either start or end their journey here.

If you have a connecting flight booked on separate tickets, I recommend allowing at least 3 hours between arrival and departure. This is because, in the event of a delay to the first flight, the airlines are not liable for a missed connecting flight.

Is it possible to spend the night at the airport?

The terminal is open according to the flight schedule, even at night, but it is not designed for a comfortable overnight stay.

Inside, you’ll find only a limited number of seats, and the airport’s facilities are fairly basic. If your flight doesn’t leave until the following morning, a more comfortable option is to stay at one of the hotels near the airport or in the centre of Batumi, which is only about a 15-minute drive away.
