For airport transportation, taxis or mobile apps like Uber or Careem are best. Buses are the cheapest mode of transport, but most of them are only used by airport staff.
It takes about 20 minutes to reach the centre of Manama.
Taxi / Uber / Careem
The official taxis always run according to the meter and you will pay about 8 bhd.
For a cheaper option, call for a ride using the UBER or Careem app from 6 bhd.
There are always plenty of taxis and cars via mobile apps at the airport at all hours of the day and night.
Public transport - buses
There are several bus routes to the airport, which are mostly only used by airport staff, but the buses are modern, air-conditioned, reliable and significantly cheaper than taxis.

Fares are the same for all routes throughout Bahrain.

Car rental
Bahrain may be a very small country with a well-functioning bus service, but you can still rent a car at the airport and be completely independent of timetables or taxis.
Car rental prices for 3 days start at 80 usd.
Bahrain's car rental companies don't usually allow you to drive to neighbouring Saudi Arabia.
