Swissôtel The Stamford: the best view in Singapore at a reasonable price?
I like Swissôtel hotels. I always know what to expect and find them to be one of the best compromises between luxury and a relatively decent price.
But I chose Singapore's Swissôtel The Stamford for a different reason: I think it has one of the best views in Singapore!
It lived up to my expectations:

Why did we book Swissôtel and what was the price?
The main reasons were practical:
- part of Accor → you know what to expect
- booking through All.Accor.com (earning points + earning Flyingblue miles + Gold status → better price)
- top central location
- view of Marina Bay Sands
👉 In other words: maximum value for money, plus the "wow effect" of the view.
I chose the room SWISS MARINA BAY on the 47th floor with a balcony and top view. This is one of the highest categories, hence the price was about a quarter higher than other rooms.
For 1 night with breakfast we paid 326 sgd. I had a 20% discount though due to my membership in the All Voyager club.

We picked the hotel for our 1st night in Singapore - because I love the brand, and also because the view would set us up for the highlight of the trip: a stay at the iconic Marina Bay Sands.
But I'll write about it in a detailed review.
The view - the main reason for the stay
Photos correspond to reality. This is not just an "instagram scam".
- The view from the upper floors is absolutely brutal
- You can see the whole of Marina Bay, including Marina Bay Sands.
- one of the best views in all of Singapore
👉 Paradox: the view ON Marina Bay Sands is often better than the view FROM it.
💡 If the view is important to you, be selective:
- SWISS MARINA BAY room category
Room - classic business luxury standard
Here it is important to set expectations correctly.
- no "wow design"
- no experiential luxury
- but a very solid high-end standard
What to expect
- comfortable bed
- balcony (big bonus)
- work desk (could be a little bigger for my taste)
- nice design, average size of the room (absolutely sufficient for a normal stay)
- capsule coffee machine
- fridge
- umbrella
- safe
- fast Wi-Fi
- quiet air conditioning
- bathrobes, slippers, ironing board and hairdryer
- a nice treat on arrival - chocolate truffles
What you won't find here
- A minibar (however, you can order snacks and drinks directly to your room via Room Service)
Bathroom
- clean, modern, functional
- No weaknesses, but no surprises either
- amenity kit
- drinking water from the tap
👉 Exactly what you expect from Accor's more luxurious brand.
Breakfast - pleasantly above average
I'm familiar with Swissôtel breakfasts and they've never let me down so far. And neither has it here.
- ✅ wide selection of European and Asian cuisine
- ✅ traditional Swiss pastries and other delicacies
- ✅ an above-average selection of sweet food
- ✅ high quality ingredients
- ✅ what pleased me: chicken satay
- ❌ quite a small selection of fruit and vegetables
- ❌ coffee only from the coffee machine (I didn't like it at all)
- ❌ extreme cold in the breakfast restaurant (maximum air conditioning power - sweater to go!)
- ❌ long queue for seating after 9:00 (even more than 15 minutes)
Overall, despite the shortcomings, I rate the breakfast as above average.
Nothing downright original, but the choice is really great breakfast will not bore you even with a long stay.
Hotel services - everything you need
The Swissôtel The Stamford is a classic city business hotel, so there's nothing out of the ordinary in terms of service.
- 🏊 Pool - two circular pools with sun loungers, free towels and a small bar
- are shared between the Swissôtel and the Fairmont, so it gets pretty crowded
- 7:00-21:00
- 🏋️♂️ Fitness room - large and beautifully modern, but again shared with the Fairmont, it's very crowded
- 24/7
- ⛲ Spa - Willow Stream Spa with lots of treatments!
- 6:00-21:00
- 👕 Laundry service - classic. Dirty clothes are left in a bag in your room and will be washed by the next day
Restaurants and bars - the hotel's strong point
One of the things that makes Swissôtel The Stamford a very comfortable choice is the food.
You don't have to worry at all about where to go.
What to expect right at the hotel
- TWF Tea and Stamford Brasserie in the lobby
- Top floor luxury restaurants SKAI and Jaan by Kirk
- several other better restaurants on the lower floors
- SKAI bar with city views
- a combination of hotel dining and casual options
👉 Standard equivalent to a large business hotel in Singapore
👉 Quality is stable, without big fluctuations
Huge bonus: Raffles City
The hotel is directly connected to the Raffles City shopping mall.
And that's a real gamechanger:
- Dozens of other restaurants
- food courts
- cafes and fast food
- shops
👉 In other words: in a few minutes you have a choice that would otherwise mean travelling halfway across the city.
How we did it
- Breakfast at the hotel (included in the price)
- drinks with a view in the evening (we also considered dinner, but ended up eating elsewhere)
Perfect location close to the centre
This is an extreme strength of the hotel.
- Direct connection to the metro
- City Hallstation
- Green Line to Changi Airport, downtown
- Red line to Dhoby Ghaut (change to Sentosa), Orchard Road, Marina Bay, Kranji
- Esplanadestation
- Yellow line
- City Hallstation
- shopping centre right in the building
- pedestrian access to major sites
👉 Reachable:
- to Marina Bay (15 minutes)
- Gardens by the Bay (20 minutes)
- Merlion Park (15 minutes)
- Chinatown (25 minutes)
Practically the perfect base for the whole stay.
Is Swissôtel Stamford worth it?
✅ Yes, if:
- you want a top view at a reasonable price
- you are looking for a quality hotel without extreme prices
- you want an ideal central location
- you want to earn points through All Accor or you want consistent quality and branding
❌ Not likely if:
- you are looking for a unique infinity pool experience
- you want a "wow hotel", not just comfort
💡 Alternative:
Marina Bay Sands - if you want an experience, not just accommodation.
- 🏨 My Marina Bay Sands review
My verdict
Would we go here again?
Yes, why not. If I was looking for a reasonably priced luxury business hotel that I knew what to expect, Swissôtel would be one of my first choices.
- 👉 This isn't about the hotel experience, but at the same time, it's not a run-of-the-mill hotel - the view is simply one of the best in Singapore
- 👉 this is about making a smart decision if I don't want to deal with reviews and ratings - I always know what to expect
Practical tip
Prices vary greatly depending on floor and view.
👉 Higher floor = significantly better experience, but also higher price
Choose the room with the best view

I was here about 2-3 years ago when the hotel opened. For me, one of the better ones in both service and amenities.
What surprised me was that breakfast is served in the restaurants in the mall. It was so busy here. But I had the best Bircher muesli I have ever tasted! :)
Please take this as constructive criticism, I would refrain from using AI to write a similar review until next time.
