Ala Moana Beach
An alternative to the often crowded Waikiki Beach is the smaller Ala Moana "beach park" closer to downtown Honolulu. The local beach is without any facilities, but clean and almost always crowded.
Less than 100 metres from the sea, you can let your wallet loose at the Ala Moana Center, Hawaii's largest shopping mall.
Ala Moana Beach Park is a popular place not only for swimming, but also for playing sports, picnicking or just strolling along the sea. You'll find free toilets and freshwater showers by the beach.
