Akaka Falls

At 135 metres, Akaka Falls is one of the highest waterfalls not only on Hawai'i Island, but in the entire Hawaiian Islands. However, they are definitely the tallest truly accessible waterfalls on the islands.
Akaka Falls drops from an almost perpendicular cliff in the middle of a dense green jungle into a circular pool, from which the water then flows down the Kolekole River into the ocean.
The cheapest accommodation on the Big Island
The waterfall is located in the Akaka State Falls Park Conservation Area and a hiking trail about 1 km long leads to the viewpoint. No strenuous hikes await you, and anyone can manage the trail.
Entrance fees and opening hours
There is an entrance fee to Akaka State Falls Park, currently only available by credit card. The entrance itself costs 5 usd per person + 10 usd for parking, here you only pay per car regardless of the number of people.
