Bolzano with SkyAlps: a new route from Prague – not just for aviation enthusiasts
About this deal
SkyAlps, a small Italian regional airline, has launched ticket sales for its new Prague–Bolzano route.
Flights will operate twice a week during the winter only, so the route is aimed primarily at skiers and lovers of the Dolomites in winter. Flights will run from 9 December to 28 March.
- Prague -> Bolzano
- Wednesday 17:25–18:40
- Sunday 14:45–16:00
- Bolzano -> Prague
- Wednesday 15:25–16:40
- Sunday 16:45–18:00
Bolzano is the capital of South Tyrol, and SkyAlps is the only airline operating flights to the local airport.
Return fares for hand luggage only start at 289 eur, whilst fares including checked-in luggage are available at 329 eur.
I regularly monitor SkyAlps’ prices and those of other airlines, so I’d say you won’t find cheaper tickets. This is the standard pricing structure for all SkyAlps routes.
However, my heart as an aviation enthusiast compelled me to post this news item on our main page as well. The approach to Bolzano Airport literally takes you right through the middle of a mountain valley and is one of the most beautiful I’ve ever experienced.
I probably wouldn’t spend nearly €300 on a return ticket, but buying a one-way flight for 145 eur, taking the train to Bergamo and returning cheaply with Ryanair? That sounds a bit more interesting!
I’m curious to hear what you think of this route, even those of you who aren’t that interested in aeroplanes? I’m wondering whether it stands any chance of catching on from Prague. Would you consider flying to go skiing for more than 290 eur?
