Vlora International Airport in a nutshell
The international airport, located 30 km north of Vlorë, the 3rd largest city in Albania, will open for regular operations in 2026.
The futuristic and very modern terminal can handle up to 7 aircraft at a time.
The airport looks very well laid out and will significantly simplify travel to the southern part of the Albanian Riviera - the nearest international airport Tirana TIA is over 2 hours away.

Any new info when VLORA airport opens.
I see a promotional offer from Prague from Čedok but I haven't seen anything that it is already in operation.
We bought. I'm curious too, the CK didn't have any information about the airport. We're flying there from Ostrava, so we'll see.
The airport was built in the protected area of the Vjosa Delta, which led to the departure of the original EU partners of the project. It currently has funding suspended due to an investigation into widespread corruption. It is not yet even structurally complete, let alone properly certified.
Hi, last June we were in EcoCamp about 5km as the crow flies from the airport, we've been going there for about 3 years and the info from the locals was that they poured a lot of money into the airport and at the same time they were going to build a Trump tourist complex on the peninsula next door, so it looked like they were going to finish it. But the problem is that the airport is right in a bird sanctuary where about a million flamingos nest and there are tons of other smaller and larger birds in the adjacent wetlands, so I guess getting a license will be a problem... When we inspected the airport, we found that the birds are basically behind a fence... so first they have to get rid of the birds and that probably won't be easy, but Albanians can do anything for money, anyway, we're waiting to see how it turns out too.
So some other time, maybe in five years...
