Bus to New York
All regular international routes are joined by Stewart Airport Express buses, operated by Megabus in partnership with Coach USA. Unfortunately, there are no buses that connect to domestic routes on Allegiant Air or Breeze Airways.
In New York City, they stop at the Port Authority Bus Terminal in midtown Manhattan, where you transfer to many subway lines.
Tickets for 25 usd book online at megabus.com. However, you can also buy tickets from the driver (payment is possible with card or cash).
Buses always leave 50 minutes after the arrival of the international line. However, in case of delays, the bus will wait. In the opposite direction, buses arrive at the airport approximately 3 hours before departure.
After each international arrival, the length of the queue for immigration control is monitored by an airport employee and in case of delays the bus will wait for the last passenger. Conversely, if there is a situation where all passengers are cleared through immigration earlier than the scheduled departure time, the bus may depart earlier.

The journey from the airport to the station takes approximately 40 minutes.

Metro-North trains run from Beacon Station to New York City, terminating at Grand Central Station right in Manhattan.
Beacon Station is on the New York to Poughkeepsie route, which is operated by the Green Hudson Line.
Trains run about once an hour and the trip to New York City takes 60 to 90 minutes, depending on the number of stops along the route.

Car rental
If you're only traveling to New York, use public transportation exclusively, which works great in the city. A car would be a liability.
However, if you want to go somewhere other than New York from Stewart Airport, renting a car will already be a very convenient option. Long-distance passenger transport in the US doesn't work very well and is very expensive.
Weekly rental prices start at 300 usd.
Taxi
Due to the distance of the airport from New York, we do not recommend travelling by taxi due to the very high price.
A taxi ride to Manhattan from Stewart Airport costs approximately 275 usd.
