Transportation from Santorini Airport

Santorini

How to get from the airport to the resort and is it better to travel by car or bus?

Car rental

If you want to get to know Santorini in full, venturing out to the outlying villages or secluded beaches, a rental car is the best option. All car rental companies operating in Santorini are located in the arrivals hall of the terminal, and you can compare and book directly via the website booking.com.

KTEL buses

KTEL buses run roughly once an hour to the largest town of Fira, where you can transfer to other lines around the island.

The ticket costs 2,20 eur and is sold by the driver, on the way from Fira you buy the ticket at the window at the bus stop. The journey from the airport to Fira takes 20 minutes and timetables can be found on the website ktel-santorini.gr.

Taxi, hotel shuttle

Try to avoid taxis, prices for foreigners are higher than for locals (approx. 2,60 eur per kilometre) and the only use of a taxi is on the way to/from the airport if you can't wait.

However, it is much more convenient to arrange a transfer with your accommodation, often hotels or apartments even offer this free, especially to Kamari or Fira.
