Getting from Kärdla Airport

The airport is located on the north coast of Hiiumaa Island and is easily accessible by public transport. Kärdla can be reached by bus for €2.
Public transport - buses
A bus stops outside the terminal and connects to all scheduled arrivals and departures.
Each service is marked with a different route number - 6241, 6242 or 6243 - but all follow the same route from the airport to Kärdla town centre, where you can change buses for other buses around Hiiumaa.
The bus always departs 10 minutes after the plane arrives, but waits if the plane is delayed.
From Kärdla town centre, the bus runs so that it arrives at the airport 50 minutes before the scheduled departure time.

Taxi, Bolt
On Hiiumaa, taxis operate on a call-only basis and do not usually wait outside the terminal for arriving planes.

The Bolt mobile app operates in Kärdla, but drivers are scarce and cars are often unavailable.

Rent a car
There are currently no car rental companies operating at Kärdla Airport.
If you want to travel around the island of Hiiumaa, the best option is to rent a car at Tallinn airport and take a ferry to the island.
