The airport in Kazakhstan’s capital, Astana, serves as a regional hub for domestic Kazakh flights, with connections to a limited number of international routes.
As the capital’s airport, it is quite busy and operates round the clock. Air Astana, Qazaq Air, FlyArystan and SCAT all have a base here.
International routes operated by Kazakh airlines serve destinations including Russia, Dubai, Istanbul, Beijing, Frankfurt and Prague.
Among international airlines, Polish carrier LOT from Warsaw, Flydubai from Dubai, Pegasus Airlines and Turkish Airlines from Istanbul, and Lufthansa from Frankfurt all offer good-value flights to Astana.
Until 2020, the airport used the IATA code TSE for flight search purposes. Since 2020, the code has changed to NQZ.
