Shanghai Airlines is a Chinese airline wholly owned by another airline , China Eastern Airlines.
It operates under a different brand name for administrative reasons, and all passenger, website and frequent flyer program and SkyTeam membership terms are identical to parent China Eastern Airlines.
Shanghai Airlines nevertheless maintains its identity, for example by having differently coloured aircraft. The fleet consists of Boeing 737 and Boeing 787 aircraft.
