I would very much like to share with you my experience with Norse from JFK to Berlin.
At the check-in counter every passenger had to measure every carry-on bag which wouldn't have been so bad except for the AROGANT attitude of every employee!!! They ask you for money for every cm for more. After this horrible attitude we thought nothing could surprise us and it did. We went through security and went to the departure gate where for some unfathomable reason they remeasured our carry-on luggage and made us pay again!!! Degradation and disrespect to passengers at level 0. The verbal abuse and raising of the staff's voice at the travelers was a seriously horrific experience on the trip back from NYC. They make you pay for seriously everything!!! I will never fly with this company again personally.
But these are JFK airport employees, not airline employees, they're on the plane.
You got what you paid for... a return ticket from BER to NYC for 5-7k. The fact that they check it twice is because people are trying to piss it off and go to check-in without luggage. Just don't buy the lowest fare with the biggest baggage allowance if you don't make it... the staff is pissed off... they're probably as amused as you are. Buy a ticket with BA in bc for 50k and they will smile at you.-)
Well, they don't smile in BA.
To Norse Atlantic Airways:
Yes, they sell cheap tickets and then want to rip off passengers (classic of all ultra low-cost airlines).
This company is in big financial trouble, I personally would not buy a ticket with them, this company is known for cancelling flights frequently.
We flew from Berlin to Miami. The tickets were pretty cheap. The suitcases weighed absolutely everything. They only measured the ones that obviously didn't fit. I totally understand that they're watching it. But on the way back we were charged about 4000 for the stroller and two car seats not meeting the weight limit. (I couldn't find it anywhere) and they listed a mixed 10lbs. Which I don't think even the most basic infant car seat meets. Plus they delayed our flight from Europe by 24 hours. I've been trying to get compensation from them for a year now, but they don't even respond to emails. Just gets this automated email that they have a lot of stuff now... For me I strongly do not recommend, the communication is horrible. The quality of service is absolutely comparable to Aer Lingus who also fly to the US for similar money.
