In March 2018, the newly relaunched Air Italy brand became operational by transferring all operations from the former Meridiana airline. The new Air Italy is headquartered at Sardinia's Olbia Airport, but operates its largest base at Milan Malpensa Airport. The company operates a fleet of Boeing 737s, 767s and new long-haul Airbus A330s and profiles itself as a low-cost airline with a pared-down onboard service.
